Sony Ericsson announced to run Windows Mobile 6.1 on its Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 phone. This arc-slider phone is the innovative multimedia phone which enables users to personalise their experiences through a distinctive touch screen, panel-based UI creating an interface uniquely. Using Windows Mobile 6.1 and panel user interface on this Sony Ericsson’s unique XPERIA X1 enables a highly user-focused experience with enhanced connectivity, messaging and multimedia features. Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X1 has been developed to ensure that mobile web communication and multimedia entertainment can be tailored, putting the individual at the heart of the mobile experience in a uniquely personal way. Furthermore, Operators will also be able to custom build the touch panels that run on the XPERIA X1 to provide the consumer with a rich, aggregated offering of their applications and services.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 phone works on a quad-band GSM network and supports 3G technology for high speed internet connection and Wi-Fi to connect to available internet connection around. This Sony Ericsson’s smartphone includes a 3-inch WVGA (800 by 480 pixel) touchscreen that can slide aside to reveal a QWERTY keyboard. For easy navigation on accessing the menu, this phone is equiped with a four-way key and an optional joystick. Users can transfer files using Bluetooth technology supported. This Windows Mobile Professional device includes 400 MB of internal storage and expandable using a Memory Stick Micro card for additional storage.
